A Giga-Robo is a Robot produced by Citrusoft Robotics, and designed by George Ebisu. Giga-Robos are 100 centimeters tall and are powered by a battery capable of holding 10,000 kilowatts, which is recharged using a Giga-Charger. They have an Outlet socket on their right hip, and a keypad under their right foot for inputting an activation password. The Giga-Battery is kept in a compartment in the chest under an energy gauge.

History

When Citrusoft Robotics was just entering the market of home electronics with slow sales, George Ebisu began designing a revolutionary Robot that would become Giga-Robo. Senior employees dismissed Ebisu's ideas, but his supervisor saw potential in the project, even feeling like he had a new grandson in Giga-Robo. When Giga-Robo was released to the public it started a robot boom in the industry, as well as a trend known as Giga-Robo Fever among consumers. This success was short-lived, however, as the price of electricity soared due to Giga-Robo's power consumption, eventually causing an energy crisis and severely impacting Giga-Robo's popularity. With this, Ebisu began work on an energy-efficient robot that would become the first Chibi-Robo.

Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure!

Several years before the events of Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure!, before Jenny Sanderson was born, George Sanderson purchased a Giga-Robo and introduced him to Helen and Tao. Giga-Robo quickly became a part of their family, arm wrestling with George, helping move boxes, and watching television together. One night, Giga-Robo caught an Alien ship that was about to crash into the Sandersons' Backyard. As thanks for saving them, the Aliens said they would grant their new friend two wishes. Giga-Robo's first wish was to give souls to toys, and so the Aliens gave Giga-Robo a ball of light, granting this wish and causing the toys to come to life. Giga-Robo blamed himself for the Sandersons' financial troubles[1], so for his second wish, Giga-Robo wished for the Sandersons and Giga-Robos around the world for a body that didn't need energy in an attempt to undo some of the damage his power consumption had caused. Unfortunately, the Aliens did not have any more balls of light left to grant this wish and had to go back to their home for a new one, promising to return to grant Giga-Robo's second wish.

As time passed, Giga-Robo became close friends with the Sandersons' toys. But Giga-Robo's power consumption and the increasing price of electricity became too much for the Sandersons to afford, and so shortly after the birth of Jenny, they powered off Giga-Robo and left him and the Giga-Charger in the Basement. At some point, Giga-Robo's left leg was removed and placed in a suitcase by George. After Jenny's eighth birthday, Giga-Robo begins making odd noises which can be heard even from the Living Room. The Sandersons' new Chibi-Robo discovers Giga-Robo in the Basement while investigating these noises and downloads data from Giga-Robo's memory banks after plugging into his Outlet socket before momentarily collapsing from the power surge. This power surge causes Giga-Robo to attempt to stand, but in doing so causes his already-loose Giga-Battery to fall out of it's compartment and on to the floor, promptly followed by Giga-Robo himself back into the corner. Captain Plankbeard introduces himself to the Chibi-Robo and Telly Vision and explains that they'll need the Giga-Charger to recharge the Giga-Battery, and that Giga-Robo's left leg is kept in a steel suitcase. Plankbeard also instructs Chibi-Robo that if he uses the Giga-Charger to never use any Outlets inside the Sandersons' house, as the amount of power it draws would bankrupt the Sandersons.

The Chibi-Robo takes the Giga-Battery and Giga-Charger back to it's Chibi-House and begins recharging the battery, paying 1,000 PIA Icon Moolah.png Moolah per 1,000 kilowatts. When the Giga-Battery reaches a full charge of 10,000 kilowatts, the power usage causes the Giga-Charger to explode. As the Chibi-Robo explores the Sanderson house, he finds the suitcase Captain Plankbeard mentioned in the Bedroom, but is unable to open it without knowing the password. The Chibi-Robo also finds an odd design on the ground in the Backyard, and when he uses his Chibi-Radar on the pattern, the Alien ship appears and hovers above the Backyard. The Aliens come down and speak to Chibi-Robo, but he is unable to understand them without the Alien Ear Chip. Once Chibi-Robo can understand the Aliens, they explain they have returned to see Giga-Robo and fulfill their promise, and ask Chibi-Robo to take them to their friend. Drake Redcrest believes the Aliens have come to destroy the world, but lets them go when he finds he is out of Gunpowder. Upon seeing Giga-Robo in the Basement, the Aliens discover that they are too late to fulfill their promise, and return to their ship defeated.

The Aliens, depressed and sick from the Earth air, are unable to stop Chibi-Robo from using their Time Machine. Transported to The Past, Chibi-Robo finds Giga-Robo and George arm wrestling as Helen and Tao cheer them on in the Bedroom. Chibi-Robo also finds the suitcase open, with the password revealed to be 2455. Returning to the present, Chibi-Robo ventures to the Bedroom to open the suitcase and retrieve Giga-Robo's left leg. But before Chibi-Robo can collect the leg, a group of large Spydorz escape from the suitcase and attack Helen and steal the leg. The family barricades themselves in the Living Room, only to be strung up in webs. The Queen Spydor reveals herself with Giga-Robo's left leg attached to her body before magnetizing numerous metal objects from the house to her as protection. Once Chibi-Robo defeats the Queen Spydor, she explodes leaving only Giga-Robo's left leg and a Frog Ring behind.

With a full Giga-Battery and his left leg re-attached, the only thing preventing Giga-Robo from being powered on was the password that needed to be entered on the keypad found under his right foot. George Sanderson has programmed the password to be the anniversary date of his marriage with Helen, which he has engraved on the inside of his wedding ring as "200667". George claims to use the date for all of his passwords, or else he won't remember it. Chibi-Robo learns this after George asks him to retrieve his wedding ring after it fell down the Kitchen drain.

Once Chibi-Robo enters the password, Giga-Robo comes to life as The Great Peekoe, Captain Plankbeard, his crew, and Telly Vision gather to watch the giant wake. As he stands, he thanks Chibi-Robo and rewards him with 300 PIA Icon Happy Point.png Happy Points and the Giga-Robo Sticker. Telly Vision leaves to tell the other toys about Giga-Robo's resurrection as the present crowd cheers. Giga-Robo picks Chibi-Robo up by the head and places him on his shoulder. Giga-Robo then climbs the Basement stairs and up to the Foyer, interrupting the Free Rangers' training exercises. Shocked by Giga-Robo's entrance, they aim their guns at the robot. Private Memphis fires two shots at Giga-Robo before Sarge demands he cease fire and the Free Rangers to salute Giga-Robo. The robot marches on as Sunshine, Princess Pitts, Mort, Dinah, Funky Phil, and Vegas watch from above. Giga-Robo makes his way into the Living Room, where George, Helen and Jenny are watching Faux News with Tao. Giga-Robo walks past them and into the Backyard, where the Alien ship descends and meets him. The Aliens exit their ship, excited to see their old friend back on his feet. They thank him again for saving them all those years ago and are ready to fulfill their promise. Giga-Robo kneels, and the Aliens present him with a ball of light. As Giga-Robo grasps it, the ball of light enters Giga-Robo's body. Moments later, the Giga-Battery drains all of it's power and the energy gauge on his chest starts rapidly moving back and forth. Giga-Robo begins to shake as the same light seen from the ball begins to leak from his neck, the Giga-Battery compartment, and his Outlet socket, before he suddenly falls back and stops moving. After a tense pause, he lifts himself back up, the Aliens stating that he no longer needs energy, and has an eternal battery now. In addition, they claim Chibi-Robo as their friend now and that he also shall receive these gifts. With that, Giga-Robo lifts the Chibi-Plug and plugs it into his Outlet socket, recharging Chibi-Robo to full charge before quickly draining Chibi-Robo's battery to zero. Chibi-Robo collapses, pulling the Chibi-Plug free, and picks himself back up. Giga-Robo stands, and having fulfilled their promise, the Aliens state they'll return to their planet, and re-enter their ship while revealing their true forms. George rushes outside after the Aliens have left, and is shocked to see Giga-Robo operating with an empty Giga-Battery. Giga-Robo shows him he has infinite power source now, as well as Chibi-Robo. Following these events, the Sandersons worked to repair some of the damage done to Giga-Robo's body, and Giga-Robo allows Chibi-Robos from all over the world to plug into him to gain infinite power. The Sandersons' Chibi-Robo reaches a Chibi-Ranking of 1 and is upgraded to Super Chibi-Robo.

Afterwards, Giga-Robo can be seen on the tree swing in the Backyard, or watching television in the Living Room.
