Appearances Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol

Francois is the first toy the player finds on Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol. He is a marionette who wants his strings cut off for freedom. He uses his magic to help Chibi-Robo and other toys.

Appearance

Francois is a wooden marionette with a purple top hat, a walking stick, white gloves and boots, and a fancy purple outfit. His shirt has 6 yellow buttons and a large blue collar. He has large, pointed ears, blue eyes, a large nose, and pink cheeks painted on his face.

Personality

Francois is a very polite toy, referring to others by "Monsieur" or "Madame". He speaks with a stereotypical French accent and peppers French words throughout his dialogue. He is fond of helping people with his magic, and loves sweets. He does not like Chocolate, however, and strongly prefers Candy Canes. His strings depress him, and he becomes melancholic whenever he thinks about them. Other than that, he is very cheerful in his interactions.

Story

100 years before the events of Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol, Francois lived in France. During this time, he knew a doll named Eclair, and was romantically attracted to her. However, Eclair felt bad for Francois, and believed didn't have any free will and was only controlled by his strings. This was the first time Francois had ever worried about the strings, and became obsessed with them, fearing that he would never truly be free. He set out on a journey at that point to try and free himself from the strings. He searched aimlessly for 100 years before finding the park and being attacked by Sergeant Smogglor.

After helping Chibi-Robo around the park for a few days, he meets Molly Mapleleaf who tells him that he needs to look inside himself for the solution, not to travel the world.
