The policies listed here are general guidelines for user behavior and editing here on the wiki. For questions about these policies, contact a Chibi-Robo! Wiki staff member.

Conduct & behavior

  • Chibi-Robo! Editors are expected to be courteous, helpful, and assume their peers are acting in good-faith when making edits to the wiki. Editors should not engage in edit warring, and should seek to resolve disputes through talk page discussion. To avoid major disputes, it may be useful to outline major changes on an article's talk page or the Community Portal, or to create a mock-up on a sandbox page to gain consensus before making major changes.
  • The wiki aims to be space where editors can contribute ideas freely and safely. Making repeated annoying and unwanted contact, making threats or personal attacks, or posting another user's personal information is strictly prohibited.
  • Vandalism is any addition, deletion, or change to content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of the wiki. This behavior is inappropriate and will result in a warning or block depending on severity.

Content & deletion

  • Article layout and formatting should adhere to the policies outlined in the Manual of Style. Everything on the wiki should be written from a neutral point of view and should be based on publicly available and verifiable information, not speculation or opinion.
  • When making edits to the wiki, an edit summary should be provided so that other users can quickly understand the nature of the change. Signing one's name or adding any other personal information to the edit summary is not allowed.
  • Pages which are not notable, not relevant to the Chibi-Robo! series, or which contain information outside the scope of the wiki may be eligible for deletion. Pages created with the intent to spam or vandalize the wiki may be removed on sight. In most other cases, a {{delete}} template should be used and consensus should be reached on the appropriate talk page before a page is deleted.
  • Proper attribution for all licensed content must be provided in the edit or file summary. Furthermore, the wiki is not an image repository; all content (with the exception of a limited number of personal images) should be related to the Chibi-Robo! series. Any content which is offensive, racist, gory, sexually charged or pornographic will be immediately removed and will result in an immediate block or ban, according to severity.

Community interaction

  • Talk pages are meant for discussion related to their subject; informal discussion unrelated to the wiki is best suited for the Chibi-Robo! Discord. All user messages posted on talk pages should be signed using four tildes ~~~~. Unsigned messages may be remedied with the {{unsigned}} template.
  • Talk pages and user pages are usually maintained by their respective owners. Editing, reverting changes to, or deleting messages on another user's talk page or user page is generally prohibited except for maintenance purposes (e.g. template replacement or to correct dead links).
  • User pages are a space for users to express themselves and exercise their creativity. While it is common for user pages to contain some personal information, users should be careful not to disclose personally identifying information (full name, birth date, location information etc.). This information may be removed at a staff member's discretion. Each user is allowed up to five personal images for use on their user page.

Enforcement

  • Disruptive editors can be blocked from editing for short, long, or indefinite periods of time depending on the frequency and severity of their actions. The length of the block is at the discretion of the staff member but should take into account the user's previous edit or block history, as appropriate. Pages with a high frequency of vandalism may be protected for a period of time to reduce site disruption.
  • Extremely disruptive editors may be banned from the wiki. Please respect these bans; any attempt to circumvent a ban by creating sockpuppet accounts will result in an immediate ban of the duplicate account. Using a sockpuppet account to avoid a temporary block erodes trust and may result in an indefinite ban of the user's main account.
  • Wiki policies are enforced by Chibi-Robo! staff. They are expected to act as role models within the community, and treat others with civility and respect. When acting as administrators, they are expected to be fair, exercise good judgment, have patience, and give explanations to others for their actions.
