While George Ebisu was working on designing a new Robot to save Citrusoft Robotics from bankruptcy after the energy crisis caused by Giga-Robos, he began by focusing on making it energy-efficient. However, Ebisu's supervisor knew that energy-efficiency alone wouldn't solve their issues and was only the easy part of the solution. In a creative rut, Ebisu read a note from his wife that said he'd made her so happy and encouraged him to share his gifts with others to make them happy, too. This was the push Ebisu needed, causing him to recognize happiness as the other key component to designing his new robot, which became Chibi-Robo.

In Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure!, Chibi-Robo can collect Happy Points by making others happy, whether by cleaning Stains with his Toothbrush, throwing away trash, or just doing something nice for someone. Happy Points are used to increase Chibi-Robo's Chibi-Ranking, which is done by plugging into the Outlet inside of the Chibi-House. If Chibi-Robo reaches certain Chibi-Rankings, Citrusoft will send him brand-new bonus batteries to increase Chibi-Robo's Watt capacity.

In Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol, they can be converted to Watts. One Happy Point converts into 20 watts. In Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol, Happy Points are obtained by planting flowers, powering up friends, selling flowers to the flower salesman, bursting cardboard boxes, using the items from the Games category in Park Projects in the Chibi-PC, and growing flowers in a quick chain.
In Chibi-Robo! Park Patrol, HappyPoints are turned into Watts stored in the Chibi-House, which are then used to recharge Chibi-Robo, pay for items bought in the Chibi-Gear shop in the Chibi-PC, and build Park Projects. HappyPoints convert to Watts at a rate of 1:20, and are earned by planting Flowers, powering up friends, selling flowers to the Flower Shop, breaking cardboard boxes, playing Games, and growing flowers with a Flower Combo.

However, along with the standard Happy Point, there are two other types of HappyPoints called Rich Points and Sad Points.

Rich Point
Rich Points are earned by doing actions that make a character feel rich, and are added to the Happy Point total.

Sad Point
Sad Points are earned by doing actions that make other characters feel sad, and subtract from the Happy Point total.

In Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder, Happy Points are used to print Silhouette Film using the Silhouette Printer by purchasing the desired Silhouette Film in the Chibi-PC. Happy Points can be earned by completing Job mail and cleaning around the various areas.
In Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder, HappyPoints are used as a currency to purchase Silhouette Film from the Silhouette Catalog in the Chibi-PC Shop program. Once Silhouette Film has been purchased, Chibi-Robo gives the required HappyPoints to the Silhouette Printer, which processes them and prints the purchased Silhouette Film. HappyPoints are earned by completing Work for Toys that send Job Mail, as well as throwing away Trash found while exploring areas accessed with the Chibi-PC.
